Your tour passes through the remote beauty of Rannoch Moor and magnificent Glencoe, the scene of the clan massacre of the MacDonalds by the Campbells in 1692.
Then through Fort William to the beginning of the “Great Glen” and the Caledonian Canal, which you follow up to Fort Augustus, nestling on the banks of Loch Ness. Here you can enjoy your lunch, before travelling the full length of Loch Ness to Inverness.
Along the way you will have the opportunity to take a 5-star Jacobite boat cruise on Scotland’s most famous loch, giving you a chance to search for the legendary monster, popularly known as “Nessie” and enjoy the views of the ancient stronghold of Urquhart Castle.
From here you return south to Glasgow via “Monarch of the Glen” country and the Cairngorms National Park, stopping in Pitlochry and passing Stirling Castle on the way before your return journey to Glasgow.

If you do, best to not stray too close to water while you're here in Scotland. We're not talking about Nessie. We're talking about the kelpies, deadly shape-shifting creatures that often appear as horses, luring people to a watery death. Your first stop on this tour is to see the Kelpies Monument and you might just be grateful that they're not this enormous in 'real life'.
However, that's not what this monument was built for. Created by artist Andy Scott, these icons are modelled after Clydesdale horses Duke and Baron, a symbol of the lineage of heavy horses throughout Scottish history that helped shape the surrounding region of Falkirk.
Leaving behind these awe-inspiring creatures, it's time for a pleasant drive through the rolling countryside of the Kingdom of Fife to Falkland. Falkland Palace dominates this old village and was one of the main residences of the old Royal family of Scotland, the Stewarts (Stuarts). Aside from the palace, the village is simply one of the most beautiful in Scotland with an array of old cottages and narrow winding streets. Not to mention the kick Outlander fans will get when they recognise this as the location for 1940s Inverness in the popular TV series.
Next up is where you've been waiting for: the medieval town of St Andrews. St Andrew is the patron Saint of Scotland, and according to legend, his remains were washed up on the Fife coast. St Andrews is also home to the third oldest university in Britain and a beautiful ruined castle perched on a cliff. You have around three hours to explore this fascinating town.
As you head back towards Glasgow, you stop in at Queensferry Crossing and get a great view of one of Scotland's greatest man-made landmarks, the Forth Rail Bridge.
You arrive back in Glasgow in the early evening.
Your first stop is Stirling Castle, an awe-inspiring stronghold that was the favourite residence of the Stuart kings. You'll also visit the beautiful forest-covered mountains of the Trossachs, where you'll stop for lunch in the heart of the National Park. This area, on the southern edge of the Highlands, has the great privilege of being the home of Rob Roy MacGregor, the famous Scottish outlaw!
Just a short drive away lies the breathtaking Loch Lomond, often considered the boundary between the lowlands of Central Scotland and the Highlands. At Loch Lomond, you can explore the fascinating National Park Centre or embark on an incredible walk along part of the West Highland Way to a hilltop viewpoint with absolutely breathtaking views of the loch. Afterwards, you can return to Glasgow, filled with memories of this unforgettable experience!

You then travel the short distance to Blackness Castle**. It’s an impressive castle that’s known as the ‘ship that never sailed’ because it resembles a giant stone boat. You have time to walk along the ramparts and explore the fictional headquarters of Jack Randall.
Your final stop of the day is Linlithgow Palace. Here you have time to enjoy beautiful views to the Forth bridges, walk by the loch, and explore the ruins of Mary Queen of Scots’ birthplace. And if you’re feeling brave, you can visit the spot where that gruesome Outlander scene took place.
From here it’s a short drive back to Glasgow.

Your Glen Coe and Oban day tour begins as we journey north from Glasgow along the tranquil banks of Loch Lomond. Enjoy a short stop in the picturesque conservation village of Luss, known for its flower‑filled cottages, scenic pier, and beautiful lochside views — perfect for your first photo of the day.
Cross into the Highlands to reach the elegant, whitewashed town of Inveraray, built in the 18th century on the shores of Loch Fyne. Take time to enjoy a morning treat from a local bakery or browse the town’s charming shops and waterfront.
Pause to capture one of Scotland’s most iconic sights — the atmospheric ruins of Kilchurn Castle, standing proudly on the edge of Loch Awe, framed by dramatic Highland mountains.
We then continue to Oban, where you’ll have free time to explore this lively seaside town at your own pace. Sample delicious local seafood at one of Oban’s famous harbourside shacks or restaurants, or take a short walk up to McCaig’s Tower for panoramic views over the bay.
Next, travel north into the dramatic landscapes of Glen Coe, one of Scotland’s most celebrated glens. Learn about its volcanic origins, local wildlife, and the moving history of the 1692 Glencoe Massacre.
On the return journey to Glasgow, your tour makes a final brief stop in the village of Tyndrum, a small Highland crossroads surrounded by rugged scenery. Grab a coffee or snack before we continue back to Glasgow.
