The temple is also regarded as one of the Siddhapethas dedicated to the Adhisthatri Devi of Haridwar. Shanti Kunj is another place to visit while you are in Haridwar. It is the most important centre for the Gayatri followers all over India. The temple here houses 24 images of Gayatri. Shanti Kunj is also famous for yoga practices. Shwetamber Jain Temple in Haridwar - The tirth came up in the 1990’s with the blessings of Acharya Shri Padam Sagar Suri Ji Maharaj and with it came an end to the long-pending aspirations of Jains for a spot in the holy city of Haridwar.

Surrounded by lush Himalyan ranges, the temple is an attempt to recapture the sanctity of the Jain faith. Daksha Temple - This temple is named after King Daksha Prajapati, the father of Sati. Daksha is one of the fourteen Prajapatis, creator deities, who preside over procreation and are the protectors of life in Hindu mythology. Popularly known as Sri Daksheshwar Temple, this temple was initially constructed in 1810 AD by Queen Dhankaur. However, the temple was again rebuilt in 1962. \nMaking a visit then spending time beholding Aarti Ceremony close up is a must for every bucket list when you're on your way discovering the Ganges's highlights. Owning a great story of over one-thousand-year history, Aarti is a very common ritual performed every evening at river ghats of the Ganges River at the three holy cities of Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Varanasi in India. An aarti is a devotional ritual that uses fire as an offering. It's usually made in the form of a lit lamp, and in the case of the Ganges River, a small diya with a candle and flowers that's floated down the river.

\nAarti can be simple to extravagant, but always includes flame or light. This traditional Hindu religious ritual of worship is a highly choreographed ceremony performed on a stage by a group of young pandits dressed in saffron robes who have puja plates spread out before them.

\nThe ceremony begins with the blowing of a conch shell and continues with the waving of incense sticks and the circling of large flaming lamps. The movement of these lamps is tightly synchronized to the rhythmic chants of hymns and clang of cymbals. While facing the river, the Hindu priests use lamps which are circled around in a clockwise manner, accompanied by chants or songs in praise of Mother Ganga. It is believed that after the ritual is complete, the Goddess showers her blessing onto each individual present there.

\nFirst of all, we visit the famous Triveni Sangam Ghat of Rishikesh. This is the place where the three sacred rivers; Ganga-Yamuna—Saraswati meet each other. After visiting Triveni Sangam Ghat you could take a holy dip into the river and then go for a short boat ride. After this we pay a Darshan at the Geeta temple and Laxmi Narayan temple located near to the Ghat and then move towards Raghunath temple, another temple located close to the Ghat.

\nThis temple belongs to lord Rama and is quite well known for the many Hindu rituals that are performed there. In vicinity to Raghunath temple lies Rishikund, a water reservoir with great mythical significance. This Kund is said to have been created by Saint Kubz and then got blessed by Yamuna who poured her water into it to make it to a pond. Next we visit the Laxman temple followed by the Tera Manzil temple along the river banks of Ganges. Laxman temple is an abode of lord Laxman; brother of Lord Rama. The splendid carvings on the temple captivate all attention. After laxman temple, we visit the 13-storied Tera manzil temple. This is a huge structure belonging to various gods and goddesses of the Hindu pantheon.

\nNext we visit two most significant landmark attractions of Rishikesh; the Ram jhula and Laxman jhula. These are two suspension bridges made of iron. These bridges come with great mythological significance. There are many small shrines and ashrams around these two jhulas which we could consider visiting only if time permits. Some of those ashrams and temples are Geeta Bhavan, Parmarth Niketan, Yog Niketan, Swargashram, Beatles Ashram, Shiva Nanda Ashram, Sachcha Akhileshwar Mahadev temple.
