From Zurich you will embark on a scenic coach journey southwards through picturesque landscapes along the shores of the Lake of the Four Forested Cantons (as Lake Lucerne is romantically called in German) to Lucerne.
We’ll stop in this historic city for a brief tour orientation tour of the main sights like the Chapel Bridge, the Town Hall, the Jesuit Church and the Culture and Convention Centre KKL. . You will then have some time to explore the Old Town at your own leisure. Admire the frescoed façades and fairy-tale turrets of the narrow streets and marvel at the wooden Chapel Bridge.
Afterwards, we’ll continue our journey to Engelberg, the picture-postcard alpine village nestling at the foot of Mount Titlis. We’ll take a number of cable cars to reach the summit, which is more than 3,000 metres above sea level. Enjoy the spectacular sight of the glacier’s deep crevasses and gigantic ice boulders from the revolving gondola lift, allowing you an unrestricted 360-degree view of the landscape.
At the top of Mount Titlis, a high alpine panorama awaits you. Enjoy magnificent views of the Alps from the restaurants or the sun terrace. Visit the shimmering 350-metre-long Ice Grotto or take a ride with the IceFlyer (weather permitting), which brings you close to the crevasses.

Next, continue on to Weggis, the picture-postcard lakeside village nestling at the foot of the 1,800-metre-high Mount Rigi. In Weggis, the tour guide will arrange the tickets for you and will make sure you are ready for your adventure at Mt. Rigi. Take the cable car to Rigi Kaltbad, where you will hop aboard Europe’s oldest mountain railway for a panoramic journey to Rigi Kulm. Enjoy breathtaking views over the surrounding mountains and 13 lakes. During the summer you can hike to the summit or in the winter, you can hire a sledge.
The descent involves yet another adventure as you board a rack railway (25% gradient) to reach the idyllic hamlet of Vitznau, which occupies a narrow strip of land between the lake and the mountain. In Vitznau, board a ferry for a scenic one-hour lake cruise to Lucerne.
You will then have some time to explore the narrow streets of the Old Town of Lucerne at your own leisure; admire the frescoed façades, fairytale turrets, and marvel at the wooden Chapel Bridge. Later, meet again with your guide at the agreed meeting point in Lucerne for the return trip to Zurich.

Discover the luxurious Bürgenstock resort that first opened its doors to the public back in 1827 and stroll along the paths where the rich and famous resided back in the day. Host to many renowned guests such as Charlie Chaplin, Audrey Hepburn and Sean Connery, the resort underwent complete reconstruction and reopened its doors in 2017. Shopping or restaurant opportunities at the resort, hiking paths in the pure nature and astonishing views over the lake and Lucerne will await you at 500 metres above Lake Lucerne.
For all the active or thrill-seekers, we highly recommend taking an alpine hike to the Hammetschwand Lift, the world’s highest exterior elevator. Descend to Kehrsiten and take a relaxing boat ride back to Lucerne to round off your day. Meet your guide in Lucerne for the return journey to Zürich.

Heidi's world is not only a children's fairy-tale, it really exists!
After a tour of Zurich we follow the lake to Rapperswil and visit the picturesque Old Town and its medieval castle - time at leisure. Then after crossing the Ricken Pass with its panoramic views of the Alps we reach the lovely Toggenburg region with the most picturesque scenery of green hills and valleys.
In Vaduz, the capital of the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein you will have time at leisure. See the settings of Heidi’s story in the Maienfeld area. In the summer months (March 15 – November 15) we can visit Heidi’s village. A pleasant short walk leads to a collection of typical mountain houses, a village shop, and of course lots of little goats.
Entry into the authentic Heidi House is optional. During winter time when Heidi’s village is closed we visit picturesque Werdenberg with the oldest buildings in Switzerland. Our trip along Lake Walen takes us back to Zurich.
Your adventure begins with a scenic coach journey through picturesque landscapes and along the shores of Lake Lucerne before arriving at the city. Take in the views en route (along the shores of the lake or at the Lion Monument) and enjoy a brief city tour.
Your tour guide will point out the main attractions of this charming town, such as the Chapel Bridge, a diagonal wooden structure dating from 1333 and featuring a series of gable paintings, the Renaissance-style town hall, the 17th century Jesuit church – regarded as Switzerland’s first baroque religious building, and the futuristic Culture and Congress Centre.
You will then have some time to explore the city at your own leisure. Admire the frescoed façades and fairytale turrets of the car-free Old Town. We suggest a visit to the city walls, the Transport Museum or the Rosengart Museum, where works by artists such as Picasso and Paul Klee are exhibited. Delight yourself with a romantic boat trip on the lake or hop aboard the City Train (from April to October only - Optional), or simply take it all in with a stroll along the river or shopping in the medieval streets.
