\nThe village of Amer is just 11km away from Jaipur but might as well be in another world. It is a treasure trove of historic palaces, none more so than the awesome Amber Fort, the former citadel of the rajas of Jaipur. This vast hillside complex overlooking Lake Maotha is one of the finest examples of Rajput architecture and was built by Raja Man Singh, the Kacchwaha King of Amer, in the late 16th century.

\nThe palace, which is divided into four sections, each focused on a central courtyard, was constructed with marble and red sandstone thus giving it a distinctive dark pink hue. Pass through the glorious Ganesh Pol gate into the first courtyard and enter the realm of the rajas. Admire stunning structures such as the Hall of Public Audience, the Hall of Private Audience and the private chambers of the queens, where the windows have latticed screens so that the ladies could watch the proceedings at the royal court in privacy. There is also the Temple of Victory, with its famed the Hall of Mirrors, and the Hall of Pleasure.",

"description": "Within the city of Jaipur are a number of interesting sights. The first is the city palace and museum, dating from the early 18th century and belonging to the ruling Jaipur family. The palace houses a textile museum, armoury and art gallery, with some stunning pictures showing the pageantry and pomp of life as an aristocrat. The palace can get busy with tour groups, but if you wait for only a few minutes, the group will have rushed on to something new.Just outside the city palace is the Jantar Mantar, or observatory, built under the instructions of the astronomer King Sawai Jai Singh, in 1728, which has been designated as a world heritage site by UNESCO.

\nThe observatory requires a competent explanation, but with a good guide, you will really appreciate the complexity and detail which was needed to construct this amazing piece of work. The sun dials are accurate to within 2 seconds and are corrected for the local time in Jaipur, which is some minutes different from Delhi. In addition, there are a dozen structures which fix the position of the sun in each of the astrological signs. Astrology has always played an important part in Hindu life and is still used today before any business, political or marriage arrangement is undertaken.

\nThe Hawa Mahal, or Palace of the Winds, lies adjacent to the main road between the city centre and Amber, the former capital. The five-storied structure was built in 1799 for the women of the royal entourage to observe the pageants passing along the streets below. The building is only one room deep, and is therefore only a facade, rather than a palace. You cannot actually enter the building but you can stop on the roadside to view the Palace and take photographs if you wish.",

"description": "Begin the tour by visiting the Amber Fort. The Amber Fort is situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur City and is beautifully reflected in the lake below. Inside the fort, you will encounter the world-renowned Jai Mandir temple with its dazzling Sheesh Mahal hall of mirrors. The walls and the ceiling of the Mahal are covered with a beautiful array of mirrors, which reflect any streak of light, illuminating the entire room.

\nThen continue your visit to Jaigarh Fort. Well placed at the peak of Aravalli hills, Jaigarh Fort offers a magnificent view of Amber Fort as well as the view of the entire city of Jaipur. Sawan Jai Singh II, was the main visionary behind the construction of the Fort and it was built to protect the Amber Fort of Jaipur. Miniatures painted on the walls depict hunting and war scenes, apart from festivals. Precious stones and mirrors are embedded in the plaster. The imposing Jaigarh Fort built by Jai Singh in 1726 commands a fine view of the plains. The fort has a small museum, the largest wheeled canon in the world and three huge water tanks.",

Inside the fort, you will encounter the world-renowned Jai Mandir temple with its dazzling Sheesh Mahal hall of mirrors. The walls and the ceiling of the Mahal are covered with a beautiful array of mirrors, which reflect any streak of light, illuminating the entire room.

\nThen continue your visit to Jaigarh Fort. Well placed at the peak of Aravalli hills, Jaigarh Fort offers a magnificent view of Amber Fort as well as the view of the entire city of Jaipur. Sawan Jai Singh II, was the main visionary behind the construction of the Fort and it was built to protect the Amber Fort of Jaipur. Miniatures painted on the walls depict hunting and war scenes, apart from festivals. Precious stones and mirrors are embedded into the plaster. The imposing Jaigarh Fort built by Jai Singh in 1726 commands a fine view of the plains. The fort has a small museum, the largest wheeled canon in the world and three huge water tanks.",

"description": "Sanganer is a small township situated approximately 16 Kms away from Jaipur. Known for its famous handmade paper industry and the textile printing industry, Sanganer is very famous for Jain pilgrimage services. Floral and block prints are also a specialty with the Sanganer block printers and artisans. The idea behind the handmade paper industry was initiated by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1728.
\nApart from the flourishing industries, Sanganer is also known for its medieval ruins and primeval temples that are deeply rooted in the culture and heritage of the settlement. See for yourself the way in which they prepare the textiles with the help of hand block prints. Sanganer Tours feature a peek into the quaint rustic village life of the people which is simply a delight to experience. The Sanganer textiles are renowned all over India and abroad for their hand-printed goods, for their delicate designs and bright colors. A distinctive feature of Sanganer prints is that the colorful designs in all possible colors are printed on white backgrounds. Block printed and screen-printed fabrics of Sanganer are equally popular.

\nTours to Sanganer have every promise to be one of the best ones amongst the Excursions from Jaipur. Apart from handicrafts, the visitors can also witness the brilliant Shri Digamber Jain Temple here. Complex carvings that represent an old school of architecture beautify the walls of the temple. This beautiful Jain temple was built in the 10th century and is the spotlight of travel to Sanganer. The temple is the abode of the idol of Parshwanath and contains seven serpent hoods that have grand spires and a stone shrine. Gorgeous fountains engraved into lotuses, creepers and elephants encircle the idol.",
